5/28/10 Me to Babe

Hi Babe:

I'm so glad you had a good time with your mother. And, that you made the best of the weather. Most of all, thanks for sharing with me about Michael trying to get into UPS. I was almost going to tell you the name of my supervisor I had when I worked for them, but quickly realized after 30 plus years, he probably doesn't work there anymore. Besides, I will never forget the story about drivers getting fired if they have an accident. No, I won't go there. I'm sure, Artie can put in a good word for him. John must be pulling for Vice President if he keeps going like he is. Good for him too.

As for Mrs Vulcano, I will tell you we started talking and she asked me if I was married. I said no. But, she came back quickly telling me there is someone very close to me. I said, yes, but you did not live with me. She mentioned that was a situation happening for a long time now. I told her we were separated for the last 5 years, but she said, no, before that. I told her we lived apart when I was in NY. Then she said, you lived with three kids. I said, no, she has two. She said, no, there are three, 2 boys and a girl, living with her. I thought about it, and came to the conclusion: John, Mike, and Dukey! Scary. She stated, the kids were older and they should not be living at home anymore. But you would be lost in your life if they were not with you. She believes you should live your own life and to seek your own happiness. Later in the conversation, she told me I loved your cooking, but I was not as fat, when I ate your food. That is true! Then, she said for me not to wait for you. That you were dating. I told her, I did not care, and proceeded to tell her about the movie, The Notebook, and that was what I expected out of my life. That someday you would need me, and I could be there for you. This goes right in hand with a quote from my Psycho he told me a while ago:
"When confronted with bad news, (like a death of a loved one, etc.) a person can deal with the issue, and in time the wound will heal, and life goes on. However, when presented with a situation in which there is HOPE, hope is paralyzing forever. Hope is a most powerful emotion."

This is what I live with every day. Hoping I could be with you. Hoping you will need me. Hoping you will love me again.

Hi, Just read your email. I liked your stories about the sweet people you meet along the way in your work and how they seem to inspire you. You sound like your enjoying working and getting out of the house to visit clients again. How can it be bad when the sun is shining and the weather is warm...well, maybe HOT! The psychic must have been interesting. You have to email me with what she spoke to you about and what she could sense from your past. I definitely believe some people have a sort of sixth sense and can somehow feel things about others.

The BBQ was all set and everything was going to be good. The food, kids, house and company were all ready.......and then the stupid weather didn't cooperate. It was very chilly, overcast and rainy....that blows!!...Johnny managed to get the BBQ-ing done and we all ate in the living room and kitchen. It really turned out nice. My mother looked great. I am happy to see that she looks better each time I see her. Not tired and old-looking at all. She mentioned talking to you about Genovese and Ma. I hope they're doing better. The boys were so happy to see her and she was loving being with them. Of course Dukey had more than a few pieces of hot dog and hamburger as well as beans (which proved delightful that night when she slept with me on the bed). The weather has been off and on sunny...followed by some rainy, cool days. The nights are still a bit chill, but hopefully, the warm weather is coming.

Michael is hoping to get into working at UPS soon. He's trying to get a driver's position. Artie told us UPS was going to be hiring a lot of new driver's. Even though Michael really loves the Post Office, he's still not getting any health benefits or pension because they froze the test for permanent employment right after he was hired. He's been asking the head of the Union when the test will be made available again, but the rep has no real answer right now. Unfortunately, there are so many rumors going around about the USPS that nobody wants to commit to any future tests. He wants to move forward, so I'm hoping the UPS job happens.

John is in Maryland for about 2 weeks. They called a few of the Geico shops in NY and asked for Adjusters to be sent there for help with claims after a big storm they had. The workload was huge and the shops in Maryland need help. John found out last Thursday night around 9:00 pm and was on the road at 10:00 PM. He drove straight through to Maryland and arrived in the middle of the night. He like that kind of adventure. Talk to you soon. Thanks again for the nice stories.

Hi Babe

First, how was your BBQ? How did you find your mother? Please tell me how things went.

I have a few stories to share with you. In the past month, there is a Mr Ray Glenn, 81, who wanted a Reverse Mortgage. Made an appointment to meet him and his wife at a Wells Fargo branch, but she called at the last minute and said she was having problems dressing her husband. We canceled and rescheduled, but for me to go to their home. When I met them, I found out the real reason. Ray has a bladder problem and he pees every five minutes. The problem does not stop there. Sometimes he does not make it to the bathroom, and he goes in his pants. Three times while I was there. Feel bad for him, after 32 years in the Air Force.

Another one is Walter and Bernadette Bliss. He is 83 and lives in a beautiful house on top of a hill overlooking a mountain. Gorgeous view. Anyway, he has all kinds of medical problems and wanted to secure the house with a Reverse Mortgage for his wife in case of his death. We talked for over two hours, and share many stories of life. It happens they lived in Westbury, NY. Of course we talked about Long Island and that gave me instant credibility. By the end of the two hours we were exchanging pictures of his family, and, yes, I showed him your pictures. Well, actually the new Capitol credit card I have with your picture on it. He mentioned I wanted to keep you for "posterity" by putting your picture on the card. If you ever want a copy of it, ask me, I have the approval letter from Capitol I can send you so you can see what I'm carrying around.

The third one is Brendas Vulcano. That's her real name. She is 82 and feisty, but wants to pay off her mortgage in full with the reverse mortgage. She was talking to me and asking questions about my life, and telling me a lot of things which she could not know about me. Anyway, some of the stuff she told me was about you and me. Very personal stuff, and it was getting me a bit uncomfortable, so I asked her how she knew about this, and she said she was a psychic. I have never been to a psychic, but I thought it was like a fortune teller. It isn't. She actually said things about the past and that leads her to tell of what may happen in the future. Scary!

One more thing. The other day I was in the car, and the car in front of me had a Nevada license plate that read "SPLANGL". Remember we thought of that name for your car. It was supposed to be for Special Angel, but it didn't make too much sense when spelled out like that. Someone here feel about their girl, like I did about you.

Okay, one last thing. The manager I have at work is retiring next month, she is in her 70's and has had enough. We were talking the other day (about you), and I told her the story of how we met in 1992 at the PTA convention. And, remember the lady who was PTA President at that time who told us to turn around and say hello. Well, it just happens my manager knows this woman Ann Lynch, since she too was PTA president many years ago. I am hoping my manager can put me in touch with Ann Lynch, because I would love to thank her and tell her how much she changed my life.

I still look at my email each day hoping to see one from you, so please write whenever you can. Even if you don't say anything personal. I'm beginning to accept how you feel, but you are still a part of my life.

Hi Babe:

I have another funny story for you. The other day, I was having a proble with my phone, and had to take it to Verizon for them to fix it. So, when I got there, spoke to a guy in his 30's who said he could fix my problem. When he took the phone from me, he turned it on, and the first thing he sees is your picture which I have set as my wallpaper. His eyes swelled, grew as big as they could get, and he let out a loud, "Wow", which everyone heard. He apologized immediately, but of course, I said thanks, and dont worry, I say the same thing about her. While he was fixing the issue, he kept going back to the main page and looking at your picture, and I noticed what he was doing, and all I could say at the end to him, was thanks for your reaction, I love her too.

I have been asked to teach a class for Reverse Mortgages at the University of Las Vegas this fall. I'm submitting a course outline for their approval. Probably will run 5 or 6 weeks at night.

Have a great Mother's day tomorrow, and enjoy your BBQ with the family. And, please, please listen to your very, very smart mother.

Hi Babe:
I have been working on a response to your last email for quite some time now. Its actually over two pages long so far, and still in the working stages. Its all positive, nothing really negative, so you can email me anytime you want. Please. However, yesterday, I went to the movies and saw, The Back Up Plan. I must ask you to please go see this movie. In particular towards the end of the movie there is an interaction between JLo and her mother (before the mothers wedding) that I'll ask you to pay particular attention to the dialog. This says everything I was trying to write in my two plus pages, and a lot more. The end of the movie is good too. You will understand if you hear it. It may just save me from having to finish my letter, and possibly have some of its contents mistaken for negative feedback, and keep you from writing to me. And, oh yes, I had tears in my eyes. (proud to admit it).

On another note. Ma, next door fell again and was taken to the hospital for a few days. They are telling Genove to place her in a home, but Ma doesn't want to go there. (just like my mother was). Wrote to Jackie to tell your Mother already. also, the pool here is open for the season. I went in last weekend when no one was around. The water is warm, but most important are the memories of you being here. I reminisced about the pictures I have of you in the pool area, and was actually waiting for you to come in, but you didn't. Oh, well, maybe some day.

Please tell me what you think about the movie dialog.

Hi,That Walmart story was Classic George...hahahahaha....I always said you were a "snitch. However, I think if I were in the same situation, I would have told the greeter as well. So maybe I'm a snitch-in-training too.

I was hesitant to email you after reading your last email about the therapist advising you to basically stay away and have no contact with me. I wasn't sure what to do so I just waited for you to email again. I know he is telling you what he feels is in your best interest. I'll definitely abide by whatever you say is comfortable for you.I saw my mother at the baby's 1st birthday party in Howard Beach. She looked so much better than when I had seen her on Christmas Eve. She didn't look as tired or worn out. I hope she's adjusted to her new surroundings even though the weather has not cooperated with her arrival. What the hell!! Didn't anyone up there get the friggin' memo! Martha's baaaaack...let's see some stupid sunshine, dammit! She told me she was coming to stay with me when they go on vacation in July. I'm looking forward to spending some time with her. I know the boys can't wait for grandma to stay over for a few days.

Everything here is fine. Dukey is....well...she just IS!!! I cooked some past for her the other day and left it in a bowl on the table covered with plastic wrap. Michael came home from being out in the cold and rain all day delivering mail and probably thought I left it for him....Poor thing came in the living room with the bowl and a fork and I screamed.....MICHAEL, I MADE THAT FOR THE DOG! .......He had the most startled look on his face and we had to laugh because I never thought I would take food out of my kid's mouth for the dam dog!!....Johnny said "Ma, today is the day you finally lost it"....then I ordered a pizza and gave the pasta to the dog. She looooooved it. Then I also gave her the crust from my pizza slice. I figured if she's going to eat her poop in about an hour, she may as well have the Italian Night Special. Of course, that night she was on sleeping on my bed passing gas that smelled like 5-day old garlic bread.

My life blows!!! Anyway, thanks for the funny Walmart story. Talk to you soon
Me.

Hi Babe:

Want to tell you a funny story. Yesterday I was walking into Walmart, (where America shops), and as I was approaching the “greeter” I noticed a stand with some merchandise near the doors. Just then an Oriental lady passed the stand, and pocketed some stuff and continued to walk out. Of course, I stopped by the “greeter” and told her what I saw, and continued into the store. On my way out, she remembered me, and thanked me because she went outside after the lady, and asked her for the receipt, and noticed the non purchased merchandise, and took it back. After I was walking out, I started to laugh at myself, because all I could think about was you telling me how I was a “snitch”. Well, I was a snitch to Walmart and saved them a few pennies of profit. But, all I thought about was you, and me being a “snitch”.

The pool here in the park was opened yesterday, and last night I went for a walk around the place and noticed the lounge chairs and tables laid out just as they were when we were here. I pictured you in your pink bathing suit laying on the lounge, and walking into the pool by the stairs, and hugging the wall of the pool around the bend. Oh, what memories. It will be tougher than I thought living here without you.

Today, I’m going to buy a flag and put it in the holder outside the house. Your mother had a flag, but its shredded. I can’t imagine what happened to it. Also, I put in quite a few bags of red rocks around the front to liven the place up a bit. And, the two characters “Ben & Martha” are kissing each other right in front. The place looks beautiful. Oh, I also spoke to your Mom last week, she sounded good, and she told me she was going to be by you when Artie & Jackie go on vacation. She is so lucky! Take good care of her, and take her to the church.

Be well, and if you need anything let me know.
